Overview of STAR-System for LabVIEW

Presented by Alan Spark (meeting link)

STAR-System for LabVIEW brings the features of the STAR-System C APIs to LabVIEW in a set of VIs that can easily be used to interface with our test and development equipment from LabVIEW.

This presentation will give an overview of the capabilities of STAR-System for LabVIEW, the latest features and show a live demo using a Brick Mk4.

Tuesday, 10th August 2021 (10am MT)

SpaceWire Link Analysis using the Link Analyser Mk3

Presented by Stephen Mudie (meeting link)

The SpaceWire Link Analyser Mk3 is designed to unobtrusively monitor the traffic on a SpaceWire link. It can capture and display bi-directional traffic travelling over a link; it can display live link statistics; and it can output decoded SpaceWire link characters and events to an external logic analyser.

This presentation will explore the capabilities of this unit and demonstrate how it can be help validate and debug SpaceWire equipment.

Wednesday, 11th August 2021 (10am MT)

STAR-Ultra PCIe: Multi-Lane SpaceFibre Interface and Link Analyser

Presented by Dave Gibson (meeting link)

In this demo, we will present the STAR-Ultra PCIe and show how it can be used to transmit and receive SpaceFibre traffic at over 10 Gbit/s using the STAR-System software suite and a high-performance PCIe driver. We will also demonstrate the Link Analysis capabilities of the STAR-Ultra, showing how SpaceFibre traffic can be captured and visualised in a variety of graphical views.

Thursday 12th August 2021 (10am MT)

Introduction to SpaceWire Test and Development with the SpaceWire Brick Mk4

Presented by Stuart Mills (meeting link)

This demo will present the basics of transmitting and receiving packets using the fourth generation of STAR-Dundee’s most popular product, the SpaceWire Brick Mk4. It will then demonstrate the more advanced features of the Brick Mk4, including the capabilities offered by routing mode, transmitting and receiving at high speed, and error injection.

As all of STAR-Dundee’s SpaceWire and SpaceFibre interface and router products use a common software interface, STAR-System, the majority of the information presented can also be applied to these other products.
